Adam Driver on Reylo: Kylo Ren Isn’t ‘Good Boyfriend Material’

One of the beating hearts of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy has become the relationship between Kylo Ren and Rey, and a lot of fans have been advocating the romance dubbed "Reylo" on the internet. As it turns out, Adam Driver doesn't think that his Ben Solo would be a great choice for a romantic partner.

Talking to The Rolling Stone, Driver explains, "I mean, of course, I'm sympathetic to [Kylo] and I understand… But I can see on the outside, if I analyzed it, which I don't, that someone who's killed his class doesn't really seem to be good boyfriend material."

While I think a connection between Rey and Kylo can be genuine, I believe it doesn't have to be romantic at all. I kind of side with Daisy Ridley when she said that she thinks there's something equally valuable about the love between friends, which I think is the right way to proceed when it comes to "Reylo." Besides, I think it's kind of weird that Kylo would be in his 30s while Rey is only a teen when they meet. I don't think Disney would advocate that kind of relationship.

While I'm sure we'll see more of Rey and Ben Solo, the possibility of a romance is still up in the air. I'm sure Reylo fans will want things to push forward, but for the story's sake, I think something else needs to happen for this thing to make sense.
