Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Director Zack Snyder is all for pitting #Batman and #Superman against each other and making people pick sides. The director took to Twitter recently to encourage fans of the two superheroes to choose where their loyalties lie using hashtags, emojis and the additonal tag "#WhoWillWin?"
The campaign is the latest marketing move from the comic book film which will launch the DC Cinematic Universe into a new direction, according to Screen Rant.
It's a bold move for Snyder since Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice had been criticized for being unreasonably grim following mixed reception of Man of Steel. The director's hashtag call is reportedly the first time DC fans have been asked to root for their favorite character.
Not only is the film pitting fans against each other, it also begs the question whether dark storylines are the future of superhero films.
Nevertheless, the film remains one of the most highly anticipated films in 2016.
Seeing Snyder's Twitter call, it's hard not to take on sides and take part in the campaign myself.
If I were to choose a side, I'd definitely choose Batman over Superman. Even though there's no doubt Superman has otherworldly powers, Bruce Wayne's genius cannot be denied. Batman is a master at outsmarting people. Combined with his genius, martial arts skills and state-of-the-art weaponry, it's only a matter of time before he can come up with a kryptonite device to take Superman down.
One thing's for sure though, fans won't have to wait long to find out who will win as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit theaters on March 25.
