Assassin's Creed Movie Trilogy is Happening

A lot of movies have been given the trilogy treatment, made great by the likes of the Dark Knight and LOTR trilogies.

Of course, the only catch is whether or not the first movie will get the audience's attention, so you won't really waste time and money on the next two.

The best way for this is to make sure that the film is meant for a trilogy treatment--one thing that Justin Kurzel's Assassin's Creed movie has going for it.

CinemaBlend sat down with actor Michael Fassbender, who played Callum Lynch and Aguilar de Nerha in the movie, to talk more about the future of the franchise. In the interview, Fassbender pretty much confirmed what's going to happen to the movie franchise.

"This is the sort of origin of his story. We have an idea of where he's going to go over the next two films. We kind of did a three-film arc. We'll wait and see how people respond to this, but for sure, we have an idea of where he's going to go next."

Considering both the amount of work that has been given to the project and the great first few reviews that had raved good things about the film, a trilogy approach is a good next step.

Granted, Fassbender seems to be suggesting that they already had a trilogy film in mind even before folks were assured that they're set to break the videogame curse. This is a pretty bold move, seeing as how there hasn't been a single videogame movie that has satisfied the fanbase.

I appreciate the approach that Kurzel and Fassbender as producer have done for the film. You can see that there's respect for the franchise and intensive planning--so I guess we can look forward to a good trilogy run for Assassin's Creed.
