Aquaman Gets Start Date and Surprising Film Description

Though Warner Bros. didn't do so well building up the DC Expanded Universe after Batman vs. Superman and Suicide Squad did poorly last year, fans are still hoping that DC's cinematic universe will get back on its feet with its 2017 line up Wonder Woman and Justice League. Fans are also excited to see DC's lineup for next year which includes Aquaman.

Though Jason Momoa's debut as the King of Atlantis in Batman vs. Superman only lasted for quite a short time, a lot of fans were excited to see Momoa return to the big screen as DC's Aquaman. Now, new reports reveal that the standalone Aquaman finally has a start date for its production.

According to a report by My Entertainment World, Aquaman will begin filming on May 22 this year, working under the title Ahab. First set to shoot in Australia, the film will the proceed to the island of Sicily in Italy for its second shooting location.

The publication's report also reveals a description of the film. Check it out below:

"The film is about a superhero from the sea who can telepathically communicate with all sea creatures is caught between a rock and a hard place when the creatures of the sea want to revolt against the surface world."

If correct, it seems like Momoa's King of Atlantis won't be fighting outsiders but will instead have to deal with his own kind in Aquaman. This is largely unexpected, since many would think that Aquaman would have to fight against outside forces trying to invade the earth or the sea. Let's wait for further confirmation from DC.

Aquaman debuts on the big screen on October 5, 2018.
