BLACKPINK added another recognition under their belt, thanks to their hit song BOOMBAYAH.

As part of BLACKPINK's debut album, Square One, the YG Entertainment supergroup included another hit song BOOMBAYAH to its tracklist. The group first released the song in August 2016 before formally promoting it on SBS's Inkigayo. Produced by Teddy Park, the song immediately peaked at number 7 following its release and entered the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart in its first week.

Years after BLINKs heard the song for the first time, more fans put BOOMBAYAH on loop and led it to a new milestone.

This week, YG Entertainment officially announced that the K-pop girl group's single exceeded 300 million streams on Spotify as of October 9.

The new record became the seventh song of BLACKPINK to ever hit the milestone. Before BOOMBAYAH, Kill This Love, How You Like That, DDU-DU DDU-DU,Ice Cream, As If It's Your Last, and Jennie's SOLO scored the glory.

Meanwhile, three of their singles will follow the songs and break the same milestone soon.

As of the writing, Playing With Fire, Lovesick Girls, and Whistle currently has 200 million stream each.

Aside from BOOMBAYAH's record, BLACKPINK currently holds the second most-followed Korean artist on Spotify with 25.2 million followers. They are also ranked 30th internationally.

Outside music, BLACKPINK also works as ambassadors of several advocacies and projects.

Most recently, the group became the first Asian artist to become a Sustainable Development Goals ambassador. The United Nations appointed the supergroup through a Twitter post, confirming that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres personally welcomed them.

BLACKPINK joined a slew of renowned individuals who raised awareness about Global Goals.

Following the announcement, the K-pop girl group penned an official statement to address the appointment.

"We are honored to be joining this journey towards a better world." Their agency YG Entertainment also revealed that BLACKPINK is the first Asian artist to be picked as SDG advocate by the organization. We truly believe in the importance of collective action. We will only be able to make a difference when we come together, for the good of everyone. Now is the time to act for a safer tomorrow and a better future."

BLACKPINK joined three other SDG advocates: Microsoft president Brad Smith, STEM activist Chica Rosadita, and Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash.
