DC Comics and Warner Bros. are planning to take on the movie industry with its own slate of comic book films in the coming years.

It all began with Zack Snyder's Man of Steel in 2013. With the same director's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice slated for release this March, we can only expect more to come until 2020 and 3 more comic book films after that with unknown release dates.

1. March 25, 2016 – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Director: Zack Snyder

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the launch pad of the DC Extended Universe. It stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, among others.

Batman will become obsessed with taking down Superman as he believes the Kryptonian is a dangerous threat to Earth. While the main heroes are Batman and Superman, both of whom will make up later on in the film, Dawn of Justice is rumored to introduce a host of superheroes from the Justice League as well.

2. August 5, 2016 – Suicide Squad

Director: David Ayer

Suicide Squad tells the story of a group of incarcerated supervillains who are provided the opportunity to alter their sentences if they choose to get involved in deadly Black Ops missions. The film stars Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, among others.

3. June 3, 2017 – Wonder Woman

Director: Patty Jenkins

Set in a World War I time period, Wonder Woman will tell the story of Princess Diana of Themyscira (Gal Gadot). The film is rumored to be the first film to explore the origin story of the princess as a demi-god and as Diana Prince on Earth. At this point however, it remains unknown how the film is connected to the DCEU.

4. November 17, 2017 – Justice League Part One

Director: Zack Snyder

Justice League Part One will see DC Comics' heroes all together on the big screen for the first time. It's rumored to feature superheroes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman and Green Lantern, with the villain being alien ruler Darkseid.

5. March 23, 2018 – The Flash

Director: Seth Grahame-Smith

Seth Grahame-Smith's directorial debut, The Flash will feature Ezra Miller as Barry Allen on the big screen. Other cast members are unknown at this point. Since the film is sort of competing with the hit TV series of the same title, it will be a challenge to have the film feeling new and original by 2018.

6. July 27, 2018 – Aquaman

Director: James Wan

Jason Momoa stars as Aquaman. The movie will follow DC's King of Atlantis to the depths of the ocean. At this point, the plot is relatively unknown, but it's expected to feature the challenges of the undersea king as he fights for his throne. It's also worth noting that Momoa is well-known for playing a hit character in Game of Thrones, so this film is definitely something to look forward to.

7. April 5, 2019 – Shazam

Director: None

The project is said to be undergoing a "strange" development with no star and director to take part in it yet. However, Dwayne Johnson is reportedly going to portray Black Adam.

8. June 14, 2019 – Justice League Part Two

Director: Zack Snyder

Justice League Part Two will rival Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War. The plot of this film is still unknown though since there's still no plot for Part One as well. It's expected to feature the same roster of characters from Part One including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Cyborg and Aquaman.

9. April 3, 2020 – Cyborg

Director: Unknown

Cyborg follows the story of Victor Stone, a talented high school football player who craves for the attention of his father, Silas Stone, who's a scientist for S.T.A.R. Labs. Victor will be saved by his father when an accident occurs. He survives after he is given robotic pieces and is injected with nanites, otherwise known as Cyborg.

Ray Fisher is set to play the role of Stone.

10. June 19, 2020 – Green Lantern Corps

Director: Unknown

A reboot of 2011's Green Lantern, Warner Bros. and DC Comics are planning on telling the story of the green superhero again, but this time focused on the intergalactic peace keeping team known as the Green Lantern Corps. Other details about the movie remain unknown, but it's been rumored to feature Hal Jordan and John Stewart, among other versions of the character. There's no actor set to play the protector of Sector 2814 yet.
