Cosplaying is a hobby misunderstood by many, so it’s only natural if a cosplay artist would want to hide his/her true identity.
While most cosplay models dress up as characters of their own gender, there are a few rare instances when others decide to break gender norms and dress up as characters of the opposite sex. The former are the most common, with some cosplayers taking it up a notch and making art out of their costumes. The latter, being uncommon, would surprise many with their outcome.
One such person breaking the norms is a male teacher from Guangdong, China who does cosplay as female characters. Also known as Weibo user Crome Moe, the teacher and his hobby was recently discovered by his own student.
Check out the stunning female characters Crome Moe does cosplay of, as seen on Zhaizhai News (hat tip RocketNews24):
Here's some of Crome Moe's cosplay photos I'm not familiar with. I must say, one of them looks rather male-like to me.
Crome Moe as Guild Sweetheart from Monster Hunter
Crome Moe as Hanayo Koizumi from Love Live!
Crome Moe as Rikka Takanashi from Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!
Crome Moe as Riko Aida from Kuroko no Basuke
Crome Moe as Suruga Kanbara from the Monogatari series
Crome Moe as Yuki Nagato from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Then, the day came when his student recognized him
Teacher… is this you!? Are you going to the comic convention tomorrow?”
Here’s Crome Moe without his costumes
Crome Moe’s “evolution”
Needless to say, the student was surprised, but rather excited at the same time, since the student asked Crome Moe if he’s going a comic convention in their area.
It’s actually pretty cool how Crome Moe has completely transformed himself into totally different characters whenever he does cosplay. I think he deserves all the attention that he’s getting now and I don’t think this sudden jolt to fame will affect his cosplaying days any time soon.
