Prior to the show’s airing, lead star Tom Ellis, who plays Lucifer Morningstar, as well as Lauren German, who plays Detective Chloe Decker, teased some information from the upcoming episodes of Lucifer.
Without spoiling anything for die-hard fans of the hit Netflix TV show, German and Ellis described the upcoming installments as bittersweet.
While speaking with TV Line, Ellis also said that he hopes the hearts of their fans will be filled with joy even though he expects everyone to be crying at the end of Season 6.
German echoed her co-star’s sentiments when she said that she hopes that the storylines will be gratifying.
“As Tom was saying earlier, I think ‘bittersweet’ is a great encapsulating term for the ending. I think fans will get what they want and I think it doesn't cheat,” German added.
Lucifer Season 6 will take off where the previous season left off. In the Season 5 finale, Lucifer went to Heaven and was named as the new God after he sacrificed himself for Chole. His decision to do so will bring him closer to his partner-in-crime.
But this is not to say that Lucifer and Chloe’s relationship won’t be faced with challenges in Season 6.
In fact, Ellis said that things will become more complicated between the two because it’s new territory for them.
For the first time in the show’s history, Lucifer and Chloe will be are finally together.
“That's something that they've never experienced before together, you know, it leans into everything that we've kind of earned up to this moment,” Ellis said.
So, fans’ biggest question is whether Lucifer and Chloe will stay together despite all the bumps in the road that they will face.
And since Chloe was technically dead before Lucifer brought her back to life, there are speculations that her demise will continue to impact their relationship.
For now, fans of Lucifer may catch up on the first five seasons of the TV series before Season 6 premieres.
Lucifer Season 1 to 3 is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, while Seasons 4 and 5 are now available on Netflix.
