Inosuke Hashibira is an iconic character in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. If his name does not ring any bells, he is the character with a boar mask. His body is well-toned but once he removes his mask, his feminine face will appear.
With his appearance, a lot of anime fans have been intrigued by him. Some are even curious about his sexuality. Is he a girl or a transgender? Apart from those, other questions rose like is he human, is he married, or is he stronger than Tanjiro? Worry not as we will answer all these questions.
Is Inosuke a Girl or Transgender?
Despite his feminine features, Inosuke is a young man. There is no explanation why he has a feminine face but it was confirmed that he was a man. Some fans assume that the reason he covered his face is to avoid people mistaking him for a girl. But it appeared that Inosuke was raised by boars which explains his lack of understanding about humans.
He had a hard time understanding people and would assume that everyone wanted to attack him. His character developed eventually as he spends more time with Tanjiro and Zenitsu.
Is Inosuke Married?
In Demon Slayer’s last chapter, Aoba Hashibira was introduced and looked exactly like Inosuke and Aoi. It was then confirmed in Volume 23 extra that the two eventually end up together and had two great-grandsons with Aoba being one of those.
For those who missed this pairing, Inosuke and Aoi met when Tanjiro and the group came to the Butterfly Estate. Their relationship grew as the trio would return to the estate whenever they had injuries or after every mission. Fans noticed the potential of the ship to sail when Aoi gave Inosuke his own tray of food so he would stop stealing. Inosuke blushed and thanked her.
Is Inosuke Human and Did He Die?
Even if Inosuke looked like a boar or most of the time acts like one, he is a human. His mother, Kotoha Hashibira, loved and cared about him but when she found out that his father, Doma, was eating his worshippers, she decided to flee with her son. However, she was cornered by a cliff so she decided to throw Inosuke into the river.
Inosuke did die but it was because of old age. Despite the dangerous missions he faced with Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Nezuko, he survived with the help of his friends or other demon slayers.
Is Inosuke Stronger than Tanjiro?
The answer is no. Inosuke is aware that Tanjiro has more skills than him which explains why he respects Tanjiro a lot. Tanjiro is the type to strategize in battle while Inosuke fights based on instinct. Although Inosuke can beat demons with his fighting style, he knows that Tanjiro’s wit is essential in battling stronger demons.
