  • The Suicide Squad Stars Want to #ReleaseTheAyerCut
With The Suicide Squad about to release in a few days, the cast of the new film the Task Force X along with director and writer James Gunn, walked the red carpet for the premiere of the new movie. Surprisingly, the stars, when asked about their thoughts about the 2016 Suicide Squad of David Ayer and the fans’ call on social media for #ReleaseTheAyerCut, want it for the world to see. Stars of The Suicide Squad made their red carpet walk for the premiere of the film and some of them responded to the question as regards the #ReleaseTheAyerCut which has the original vision of David Ayer for 2016 movie Suicide Squad. In a report from CBR, John Cena as the Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad, Mayling Ng as Mongal, and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag for both films, share the same thoughts as regards the #ReleaseTheAyerCut call of the fans. John Cena, who also has an upcoming television spin-off series of Peacemaker, said, "It's in a company's best interest to listen to their audience. If it's in demand and they've got it, why not?" Mayling Ng also has the same view on the topic, "It's a win-win for everyone. It's a win-win for him to get his vision out and also Warner Bros. makes double the money on the same film." As for Joel Kinnaman who appeared on both Ayer’s Suicide Squad and James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, he agreed with Cena saying, "Why not? You always want to see the director's vision."   Related: The Suicide Squad's James Gunn Reacts to Snyder Cut Fans Review-Bombing His DC Film   Recently, the #ReleaseTheAyerCut surfaced following the success of the call of the fans for #ReleaseTheSynderCut wherein the version of director Zack Snyder was given a green light to showcase all the four hours of his original vision for the film. David Ayer was in the same position as that of Snyder where the vision he intended for Suicide Squad did not make it to the screen. Since The Suicide Squad has been in the news for quite some time now from its announcement to the release of the film, #ReleaseTheAyerCut got more and more intense as the fans call on Warner Bros. to give the same treatment to the movie and allow the viewers to really see what Ayer’s vision for Suicide Squad is. Ayer was really passionate about Suicide Squad and he revealed that what has been released to the public was not the vision he originally had for the movie having 40 minutes cut off from it. As for the stars of The Suicide Squad, they support the call as they, too, want to see the film of the director. The Suicide Squad premieres on August 6 in theaters and on HBO Max.

  • Is Marvel’s What If..? Canon to the MCU?
One of the most exciting shows about to arrive on Disney under the Marvel slate is What If..? and it will be an animated series featuring our beloved characters from the MCU but not in the way we all knew them before as some had swapped roles or in situations wherein things were not like the ones we already watched. This brings the question of whether it is canon. It will elevate the storytelling game of Marvel, to say the least, as it would be offering twists and turns on the what-ifs-and-could-have-beens of the characters we already know of and even their origins. Arriving on Disney+ every week, What If..? will give a refreshing take on every hero and villain that we used to watch in films, only now, they have been animated. The show will have nine episodes, one count shy from the original plan of having ten, and each of them will run for 30 minutes, more or less, depending on the episode and the story told. It would not follow the usual format as well since for What If..?, the storyteller would be Uatu the Watcher and if you’re ready to see something different, then this Marvel show is definitely for you.   Related: Marvel Studios Seemingly Hints that Agent Carter Series is Not MCU Canon   Is Marvel’s What If..? Canon to the MCU? While the characters that would be appearing on the show might be canon, the stories to be told by Uatu would be non-canonical alternate realities within the MCU. This means that the events may come from the previous shows and films but it would have a different scenario. It would not change what has already been done as it would be a whole new perspective shown to us. Based on the comic series from 1997 until 2018, What If..? would provide the answers to various questions like “what if a different person got the super-soldier serum?” or “what if Yondu kidnapped the wrong kid and not Peter Quill?” It would also deal with events that happened in the MCU but with a different outcome like “what if Loki won the battle in New York?” or “what if Doctor Strange never got the bargain with Dormammu?” Since the previous shows have been setting up the multiverse, it could also be possible that What If..? is somewhere in the alternate realities that branched out. More than that, it will also feature never-before-seen things in the MCU like Marvel Zombies which could be cool but at the same time, really scary to think of, right? Well, just like what they always say, anything is possible in Marvel. It has been confirmed that What If..? will be having a second season as well when the executive producer of the show, Brad Winderbaum, shared that the one episode cut off from season one would form part of Season 2. He also said that the arc of Peggy becoming Captain Carter would span until the rest of the seasons, seemingly teasing that there would be more than two. All things considered; it would definitely be a show worth watching. Marvel’s What If..? will premiere on August 11, 2021 at 3 AM exclusively on Disney+.

  • Is Marvel’s What If..? Releasing Weekly or All at Once?
Marvel has yet another epic show about to arrive and it will be nothing like any other ones they already released as it will delve into a lot of alternate realities and stories of the characters that we all know and love in What If..? As this new series is about to grace the screens, will the episodes be releasing weekly or all at once where it will all be available when it drops? Marvel’s What If..? will be a whole new take on the characters that have been introduced to us by the MCU and it will be answering the “what-ifs-and-could-have-beens” for every hero and villain that we know of. It would be an animated series voiced by the respective cast that appeared on films, that even the late Chadwick Boseman was able to finish voicing T’Challa, the last project he had in the MCU before his demise. Don’t be confused, though, as these are non-canonical alternate realities within the MCU. People seemed to have switched places and it will all be told by Uatu the Watcher. Considering that the recent events have opened the multiverse, well, these might belong to those alternate ones that would definitely blow your minds.   Related: What If...? Almost Featured Star Wars' Luke Skywalker Becoming an Avenger   Is Marvel’s What If..? Releasing Weekly or All at Once? Like any other shows of Marvel on Disney+ since WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Loki, What If..? would be releasing its episodes weekly where there would be an interval of a week before the next run arrives. Should you prefer to watch it all at once, you would have to wait for all the episodes to be released before being able to do so. The showrunner of the series is A.C. Bradley and the executive produced is Bard Winderbaum who recently revealed that What If..? would have nine episodes instead of the ten originally planned. The episode left behind would be carried over to the second season and it will have the same episode count as the first one, confirming that there would be another run for the series. Not only that, What If..? could have multiple seasons as well. Winderbaum also teased that the story of Peggy as Captain Carter could span from the start until season 2 and the rest of the seasons that the series would have. That means that there would be more than two, right? Each of the episodes would have the same span as the other series released by Marvel on Disney Plus. It would have 30 minutes, more or less, depending on the alternate reality or story told. Marvel’s What If..? will premiere on August 11, 2021 exclusively on Disney+.

  • Marvel's What If..? Drops New Featurette Explaining What To Expect ...
A new featurette dropped for Marvel’s What If..? and it is titled “What Is What If…?” with the voice of Uatu the Watcher, Jeffrey Wright, narrating and explaining what to expect from the new show about to arrive on Disney+ and the series looks exciting as ever, not only because it would be animated, but the whole package of having alternate realities told as well. In the new featurette of Marvel’s What If..?, Uatu explains how reality is never a straight path where every moment opens a possible offshoot, like a variant we all saw in the recent Loki series. He shares how there are a lot of realities more than any individual could think of, as he says, “an infinite number of what-ifs.” Jeffrey Wright introduced himself as Uatu the Watcher who can see through things the way others cannot, he said, “the totality of the multiverse across all time and space.” Considering the name of his character, he sees all that is happening from all angles, much like He Who Remains sans the interventions. Wright teases, “the stories you thought you know are nothing like you remember, familiar faces in unfamiliar roles, the captain no one expected, and foes who became friends.” As he narrated, it showed various scenes to expect in the show like T’Challa being Star Lord, Peggy becoming Captain Carter, and Tony Stark being saved by Killmonger.   Related: What If...?: Dave Bautista Reacts to Marvel Shockingly Recasting Him as Drax   Veteran Actor Jeffrey Wright will be making his way into the MCU, not in the usual way, as he would be voicing Uatu the Watcher in the upcoming Marvel show of What If..? Wright is known for his roles as Beetee in The Hunger Games, Basquiat as the titular character, Felix Leiter in the James Bond films, and in the HBO series, Westworld. He also has a film in DC as Commissioner James "Jim" Gordon in the 2022 Batman movie. Marvel’s What If..? will offer a new take on the stories we used to watch for the past decade in scenarios nothing as we have already seen. It will provide answers to questions that have been inside our minds since the start and it will definitely show us a new perspective on the possibilities that are in store. It will be releasing weekly on Disney+ spanning nine episodes and while the stories are non-canonical to the plots and twists we already watched, it sheds new light on what could have possibly happened if such events did not happen the way they should. Excited about this new show? Marvel’s What If..? will premiere on August 11, 2021 at 3 AM exclusively on Disney+.
