A lot of Game of Thrones fans feared that George R.R. Martin would pull a Robert Jordanbefore completing his A Song of Ice and Fire books. He's getting older and he still got at least two more big books to finish to conclude his book series. And with his slow pace of writing, let's just hope that doesn't happen at all.

But Martin has no problem poking fun at himself, like when he got killed by a flying shark in Syfy's Sharknado 3 earlier this summer:

Now, the author has also filmed another funny cameo for the network, in Season 2 of Z Nation. And this time, he's a zombie!

According to Entertainment Weekly, Martin plays a zombified version of himself, captured by a character called the Collector. True to his name, the Collector takes celebrity zombies and commands them to do his bidding. In Martin's case, it was to complete ASOIAF, and as you can see in the image below, he's holding copy of A Promise of Spring, which looks like a play on the planned seventh and final book, A Dream of Spring.

Z Nation season 2 premieres tonight at 10 p.m. on Syfy.
