It looks like Paramound might be preparing more than two scripts for the next Star Trek movie.
There might have been a lot of talk going on about an R-Rated Quentin Tarantino Star Trek installment, but in an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada,Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto isn't that sure what's going on with the franchise right now. Sure Tarantino might be working on his own Star Trek film, but it looks like there are a couple of other scripts being written for the franchise.
"First of all, I think there's a couple of scripts. Because there was a script being written before Quentin Tarantino came up with his idea for a potential film. And so I think they are kind of developing more than one. So I don't know what is going to happen," Quinto explained. "Quentin is off doing another movie. So, I feel like we are in a state of anticipation. All of us are really excited about the idea of working with Quentin on a Trek film, but I know Simon Pegg and Doug Jung, who wrote the last film, are writing a script and there are another set of writers writing a script. So I don't know. I don't know what's going to happen."
The new Star Trek franchise has always stuck to a single timeline, and Quinto has been expected to return for Star Trek 4. So it's pretty understandable that the Star Trek actor might feel a bit confused over the other scripts for the franchise. Could Paramount be working on a back-up? Or could the studio be working on another Star Trek entry outside of Tarantino's?
We'll have to wait and see. Tarantino's Star Trek movie doesn't have a release date just yet but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
