Young Han Solo Movie Will Not Change Han's Name

Fans went crazy with speculation after Bob Iger said that the Han Solo standalone will be showing how Han "got his name." People thought that Han will be introduced with a different name in the film before he gets the official "Han Solo" title, but Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has went on to clarify Iger's remarks.

In an interview with MTV, Kennedy said:

"I'm not sure that that's entirely what Bob meant. There's more to Han Solo's name, but it's not that it's not his name. It's obviously his name. It will always be his name (laughs)."

With that being said, Iger's statement probably alludes to how Han was able to gain notoriety among his peers. After all, you can't just do the Kessell Run under 12 parsecs.

With Star Wars Celebration come and gone, it's kind of a shame that we didn't get any updates on the Han Solo movie. Then again, Lucasfilm probably wanted all the attention going to Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Star Wars Battlefront II.

Maybe we'll be getting some updates during the San Diego Comic-Con? We'll keep our fingers crossed.

Han Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out on May 25, 2018.
