There's a lot of exciting Mutant films lined up for fans. There's the upcoming release of Hugh Jackman's final Wolverine Solo, Logan; the highly-anticipated return of Ryan Reynold's Merc with a Mouth in Deadpool 2, the teenage mutant superhero film X-Men: The New Mutants, and not to mention the potential X-Force and Gambit features. However, despite all of the new movies being prepared, it seems like little has been known about the new film for the main X-Men movie series, well, until now that is.
Last month production rumors lead to the discovery of a potential title for a follow-up to last year's poorly rated X-Men: Apocalypse, a film rumored to focus on the Dark Phoenix arc of Sophie Turner's Jean Grey. Now, according to a report by My Entertainment World, the alleged film is set to begin production on February 7 this year with shooting to be done in Montreal. A new synopsis for X-Men: Supernova has also been released, giving fans an idea of what to expect from the alleged X-Men movie.

"Gathered together by Professor Charles Xavier to protect a world that fears and hates them, the X-Men had fought many battles, been on adventures that spanned galaxies, grappled enemies of limitless might, but none of this could prepare them for the most shocking struggle they would ever face. One of their own members, Jean Grey, has gained power beyond all comprehension, and that power has corrupted her absolutely! Now they must decide if the life of the woman they cherish is worth the existence of the entire universe!"
Based on the new synopsis, it seems like fans are going to get a more faithful version of the iconic Phoenix arc in the X-Men comics where Jean Grey becomes entirely corrupted by the ancient Phoneix, leading her to destroy not just people but entire planets. Let's hope that it really comes to that in X-Men: Supernova.
