X-Men Producer Calls The Last Stand Director Brett Ratner 'Horrible'

The Harvey Weinstein scandal had outed several bigwigs in Hollywood for sexual harassment, and one of those people was X-Men: The Last Stand director Brett Ratner. Lauren Shuler Donner, who had been producing every X-Men movie since the first one, talks about her experience working with Ratner and calls him ‘horrible.'

Addressing actress Ellen Page's accusations about Ratner, Donner told Rotten Tomatoes:

"I back her up 100 percent… Absolutely. He's horrible. I'm aware he's very demeaning to women, extremely demeaning to women, myself included. Yes, I was aware. Anybody that's female, he's demeaning."

As for Ratner getting blacklisted in Hollywood, Donner replied with:

"I hope so."

For now, Donner seems positive with the Disney/Fox merger. Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed that he intends to have the X-Men and Fantastic Four merge with the MCU; and seeing that Donner had worked with Feige in launching the first X-Men movie, she said she would be happy collaborating with him again.

For now, it's unsure what will be the fate of the X-Men Fox franchise, what with the merger going on. Plans for the X-Force spinoff are said to be solid, but I'm crossing my fingers hoping that they do a fresh reboot of X-Men without the messy timeline that Bryan Singer had started with Days of Future Past.

As of now, Donner is still attached to several X-Men-related projects. It's only a matter of time before we get to see some solid X-Men/Fantastic Four plans for the MCU.

Donner is attached as producer for the Deadpool sequel, and it comes out June 1.
