X-Men: Dark Phoenix's Simon Kinberg Writing a Star Wars Movie

Simon Kinberg has has a pretty seasoned career in Hollywood, but this year's X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be his first foray as a director. News has it that after X-Men, Kinberg will be working on a galaxy far far away.

According to Deadline, Kinberg is currently working on a script for a Star Wars movie. It's interesting since he was also attached as producer to the Boba Fett movie that Josh Trank was going to direct, but seeing as Trank's Fantastic Four movie turned up quite the fiasco, Lucasfilm had to put that project on hold.

Besides his work on the X-Men franchise, it's also worth noting that Kinberg is also a producer for Star Wars Rebels. You think that he would be a new face for Lucasfilm, but it seems that he has actually been with the franchise for a while.

We don't know if Kinberg will be working on the Boba Fett movie still, but with Rian Johnson having his own trilogy as well as Game of Thrones' David Benioff and D.B. Weiss working on their own series of films, it's certain that we have a lot of Star Wars films to look forward to.

Catch Kinberg's X-Men: Dark Phoenix on Nov. 2.
