X-Men: Apocalypse Deleted Scenes Would’ve Given It a More 80s Flair

There are advantages and drawbacks when it comes to putting a specific era or date in a movie. While it could easily alienate those who didn't live or just don't enjoy the chosen era, a bigger drawback would be making a half-baked reference.

For some fans, these may have been the feelings for X-Men: Apocalypse. But after seeing a deleted scene posted by X Men Ladies over Tumblr, it will very likely be a possibility.

Seen above, the deleted scene shows over three minutes of Jean Grey, Scott, Jubilee, and Nightcrawler and their day out in the mall. There's slushies, vinyl records, arcades, and best of all, we see Jubilee use her powers.

Never mind if it's to let Scott and Jean play some more arcade games without using another quarter. It gives me that satisfied feeling of going back to her "mall rat" rep. And, if anything, it makes me feel that her inclusion in the movie wasn't limited to being a familiar face. At least she gets to use her powers—as useless as they may be in actual fighting.

Considering how I identify myself with the ‘90s era, I'd say the ‘80s were a bit of a blur. The only thing that felt very much the ‘80s to me in X-Men: Apocalypse was Quicksilver's musical slow-mo montage.

Looking at the deleted scenes, I'm pretty sure fans of the '80s will get the wave of nostalgia that they wanted to have and may have missed in the theatrical cut. Since deleted scenes are always a thing with Blu-ray cuts, expect to see it in the package.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be out on DVD and Blu-Ray on Oct. 4.
