Though Marvel may be dominating on the superhero box office, Fox has been making some success with their R-rated comic book movies. After the surprise hit that was Deadpool and the positive reviews for Logan — both of which are R-rated movies — the studio seems to be moving forward with their X-Force movie.
According to Collider, the screenplay will be written by Joe Carnahan, who looks to be one busy man in Hollywood as of late. Carnahan is currently scripting the Uncharted movie, and he is also set to direct Bad Boys III. What's more, he's also attached to work on a remake of The Raid starring Frank Grillo (Winter Soldier). It's a wonder how he finds time to work on X-Force.
For those who are unfamiliar, X-Force is a branch of comics that focus on a group of mutants who function just like the X-Men — only the X-Force kills their enemies. A lot of different mutants have been attached to the group, like Cable, Wolverine, Psylocke, and Deadpool.
No official release date for X-Force has been announced, but expect more news to come out as 2017 goes along.
