World of Final Fantasy Celebrates Launch With English Trailer

Fans can already finally play World of Final Fantasy, the game that explores the world of Final Fantasy in all its chibi cuteness. To celebrate this, Square Enix has released a new video that invites fans to explore the land of Grymoire with protagonists Reynn and Lann.

"Do you remember it at all, this land we call Grymoire? The vast fields, the icy ravines. But now, a sinister wind rises. As the world of Grymoire falls into darkness. And so we must fight together to protect that light, to save Grymoire."

The trailer is basically a run-through of the different features that one can expect in the game. Exploration is an obvious feature, as we see the protagonists roam around the world. The game also lets players capture Mirages.

The add-on is that you can do a lot with them, such as stacking—you literally stack them up on top of the character's head. But the goal here is to make sure that you use strategy, so that when you stack them with the character, they can become powerful enough to put up a good fight against stronger enemies.

Customization includes both changing the Mirage's appearance and name. I have to say that text in the customization tab is funny. Hopefully the customization is deep, given that there are more than 200 of these Mirages in the world.

There's the bonus of being able to change size at will—but it's basically transforming from your chibi self to the more normal-sized characters. I prefer the chibi, if only because they look cuter.

World of Final Fantasy is already available for the PS4 and PS Vita for $59.99 and $39.99 respectively.
