Wonder Woman Gets An Origin Trailer

Wonder Woman is set for a release this coming June, and a lot of DC fans are hoping that this would finally break the cycle of "bad" DC movies after the not-so-well-received Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad. The movie has just gotten a new "Origin" trailer which showcases Diana's (Gal Gadot) upbringing, and how she was raised by the Amazons.

The trailer starts out with a musical theme that's very reminiscent of Hans Zimmer's from Man of Steel, and it showcases the rough upbringing of Diana by her mother Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen). It also looks like Diana will be an outcast in her own society as well granted that she's a metahuman — probably a result of being "brought to life by Zeus."

There's still a chance that the DC Cinematic Universe can make some changes with Diana's origin, however. In the New 52, Diana believed that she was special since she was molded from clay and given life, making her the only woman to not come from a man. It was then revealed to her that [SPOILER] her father was actually Zeus, and the clay thing was just a lie.

I really hope Wonder Woman becomes a hit for DC. Sure Marvel movies are great, but I like how mature the DC Universe is attempting to be. They'll get there someday.

Wonder Woman is set for a release on June 2.
