After Wonder Woman proved to be a smash hit last year, fans are hoping that Wonder Woman 2 is just as good, if not better. One person whose hoping to keep the sequel's quality up is Patty Jenkins, who will be directing the follow up with a big pay raise. If her recent interview means anything, it looks like she isn't just in it for the money, as she discussed being obsessed with keeping the film's tone.

Jenkins told Vanity Fair that she was obsessed with keeping the tone grounded in the first film, which was a bit difficult to do given the scenarios. The first film had elements of fantasy, period dramas, World War 1, romance, and so much more, so the fact that it was consistent and good must have taken a lot of effort.

"It was the hardest thing. Particularly because the story we were talking about could so easily skew another way with any of the chapters. You start in a fantasy world of women in costume, and then you go to real life, World War I England... and then you end up in the supernatural... and then you have a love story. I brought in all of my [department heads] every week. I would sit and hammer home... we have to be so careful that we don't veer from one movie to another movie, first of all, and, second, that anywhere that she walks out in a Wonder Woman suit, it just doesn't look ridiculous."

Anyone who's seen the film know's Jenkins did a bang up job and fans can assume that she will be putting just as much effort in the sequel, if not more. Rumor has it that Wonder Woman 2 will tackle the Cold War, though fans are curious on how it will play out since Batman V Superman and Justice League confirmed that she hid away from humanity after Steve Trevor died.
