Batman and Catwoman are one of comic's best on-again off-again couples, due to their differing backgrounds and ideologies. After the Caped Crusader proposed to her in the groundbreaking Batman #24, fans will be able to see how their first date went in November's Batman Annual #2. Current Batman writer Tom King will be scripting the story for artist Lee Weeks, who he previously worked with in the Batman/Elmer Fudd Special.

While the two will likely butt heads at some point, it looks like we will also see some proper dating from Gotham's vigilantes. The solicitation for the issue asks "What was Bruce and Selina's first date?," hinting that they got romantically involved without the masks. It should be an interesting retelling, and will likely be a must-read for fans of the characters.

Here is the solicitation for the one-shot:

Travel back in time with us to see the early days of the Bat and the Cat. What was Bruce and Selina's first date? How did this rivalry blossom into romance, and then go right back to being a rivalry again? Tom King reteams with his BATMAN/ELMER FUDD collaborator Lee Weeks to show us a little young love with capes and cowls. And a little crimefighting, too.

This isn't the first time Tom King has delved into Batman's past. He is currently working on the eight-part War of Jokes and Riddles with artist Mikel Janin, showing how the Joker and Riddler put Gotham in peril during their feud. The arc started with Batman #25, with Batman #29 being the fifth, and most recent installment of the eight-part story.

Batman Annual #2 comes out on November 29 for US$4.99. Aside from Batman, King is also working on a 12-issue Miracle Man maxi series with artist Mitch Gerads for DC Comics.
