The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is arguably one of the most celebrated fantasy video games of the 2010s. With overwhelmingly positives reviews on Steam and elsewhere, it still appeals to fans several years after its release, especially following the success of the Netflix TV series, and many would love to play more. As we await The Witcher Season 3, will there also be another Witcher game? Here's what we know so far:
About The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is the third Witcher game but it's also the one everyone is talking about. As was the case with the previous games, you get to play as Geralt of Rivia, travelling around in a massive open world, taking quests, earning money who can then choose how to spend, and making choices that affect the world in one way or the other.
One of the features that make the game stand out from the previous 2 is that Ciri is a key character, while Yennefer also appears. Moreover, the game has been praised for its great writing and intriguing side quests, not to mention the beautiful graphics that make the game endure seven years after its original release.
And, of course, now there are other Witcher media, there are more perks: players overall have a better understanding of the Netflix tv series, including the cliffhanger ending of The Witcher Season 2 and the identity of Ciri's father.
Will There Be a Witcher 4 Video Game?
On the 21st of March 2022, a new Witcher game was announced to be in development, via a tweet and an announcement in the official Witcher game website.

As Geralt's story is largely completed, the foreword "A New Saga begins" could potentially suggest new characters and a brand new adventure. While little is known about the new game at the time of writing, we expect many exciting announcements in the near future so stay tuned!
