Will Iron Man Be in Spider-Man: Homecoming? Here's Robert Downey Jr.'s Response

Last night, Robert Downey Jr. appeared as a guest at Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about Captain America: Civil War. They talked about Tom Holland's role as Spider-Man, and Downey Jr. described him as a "fantastic" actor. Holland will make his debut as Spider-Man in Civil War, and he will star in Spider-Man: Homecoming next year. There have been rumors that Downey Jr. might mentor Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker, so Kimmel jumped to the conclusion that RDJ might appear in next year's Homecoming. His response?

Perhaps I will. We don't have a contract yet!

They also talked about Marisa Tomei's role as Aunt May. "My god, think of all the possibilities," RDJ joked. If you watch the clip above, you'll here RDJ say that he has a scene with her. As seen in the trailer, Spider-Man is on Team Iron Man, but will he still be on the same side at the end of the movie? Probably, and it would make a lot of sense if Downey Jr. ends up mentoring Holland in Homecoming.

Synopsis:

Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability."

Captain America: Civil War will be released in theaters on May 5.
