Star Wars fans might have to wait a while till Lucasfilm releases Star Wars: Episode IX, but it seems like we've just been given a sneak peek of the very next scene after Star Wars: The Last Jedi in a new Marvel comic (via 13th Dimension).
Though it's quite possible that J.J. Abrams could have a different opening scene prepared for Episode IX, this new Poe Dameron Star Wars comic by Marvel features what happens directly after the battle of Crait in The Last Jedi.
Gathering together in the center of the Millennium Falcon, Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaacs) get to know each other a little more, reminiscing about their time on Jakku and talking about Poe's tag as the "best pilot in the galaxy." Rey ends up questioning the title, wondering how exactly Poe becomes the "best pilot" when he's had quite a number of crashes so far.
Check it out down here:
One of the notable moments in the comic is when Poe reveals exactly how he survives the crash on Jakku in The Force Awakens, reflecting his journey so far in the sequel trilogy.
While these conversations and sequences might not find their way to Episode IX, it's certainly heartwarming to see the team banding together and getting along.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently available on Digital HD, Blu-Ray and DVD. Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
