The creator of One-Punch Man brings us yet another cool story about a guy who’s pretty much overpowered, told in a light and entertaining manner.

Mob Psycho 100 follows Shigeo Kageyama (also known as Mob), an ordinary-looking middle school student. It turns out that he’s an incredibly powerful psychic with amazing powers. He works under Reigen Arataka, a self-proclaimed psychic—this is all just pretend though, seeing as Reigen is a con artist. Mob works under Reigen to exorcise spirits.

Mob Psycho 100 is written by One, which is the manga artist’s pseudonym. It began serialization in the online version of Weekly Shōnen Sunday called Ura Sunday in April 2012. It ran until 2017, gathering a total of 16 volumes. The North American serialization was under Dark Horse Comics.

The anime adaptation by Bones currently has two seasons which aired between 2016 and 2019. There are a total of 25 episodes which makes it fairly easy to binge-watch within a day. Some fans might be confused as to whether Mob Psycho 100 is a shōnen or a slice of life—while it is under the shōnen demographic, I’d say it’s a bit of both, but probably mostly the latter.

The final episode of the second season of Mob Psycho 100 (also known as Mob Psycho 100 II) ended on somewhat of a cliffhanger. Unfortunately, it didn’t cover the whole manga up until the ending.

So if you want to read up on what happens in the manga after the anime, the last episode of Season 2 covers until Chapter 91 in the manga. That’s under the World Domination arc, and there are still other arcs in the manga after that. Mob Psycho 100 has a total of 101 chapters, with the 101st chapter being an epilogue.

One’s drawing style is amazing, so I recommend you read the manga if you haven’t.
