We're Getting Black Widow vs Taskmaster Early in Marvel's Avengers Tie-In

Marvel's Avengers is coming out on May 15, 2020, so it makes sense that the game would have a comic book prequel that will detail what happens before A-Day starts. Marvel's Avengers: Iron Man #1 is out right now and more one-shots focusing on Thor and Hulk have already been announced, which should continue this exciting story. Marvel recently revealed that one-shots focusing on Captain America and Black Widow would be coming out in March, the latter of which will have Natasha taking on Taskmaster before her solo movie comes out.

While this might sound like a cheap tie-in to the movie, keep in mind that Taskmaster was revealed for the game way before he was made official for the movie. This was obviously planned by Marvel in advance so that their corporate synergy will get people excited for both products but it's still a solid way to get people invested.

Black Widow looks like a pretty fun character to use in the game and taking on someone like Taskmaster should be a great way to show off Natasha's skill set. We know that the two will take each other on early but we're also expecting another fight later on with Taskmaster, whether it's with Natasha again or against someone more interesting like Captain America.

Marvel's Avengers is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia on May 15, 2020. Marvel's Avengers: Black Widow #1 will hit comic book stores this March.
