"Water Fight" Sequence From Ghost In The Shell Released; First Look At Michael Pitt's Kuze

The live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell comes out by the end of March, and that's just barely a week away. A clip from the "Water Fight" scene in the movie — where the Major is wearing her thermoptic suit — has been leaked online. What's more, we get a good look at Michael Pitt's character, Kuze.

The scene is ripped straight out of the anime, and has the Major (named Mira this time) taking down a thug in in the water. If you look at the classic anime sequence, you would notice that this version of the takedown is less brutal. In the original, the Major Kusanagi breaks both an arm and a leg of the thug. Also, the anime version of the thermoptic suit is *ehem* more revealing.

As for Michael Pitt's character, this is probably the best image we've seen of him yet. Though he was previously teased in all the trailers, this image gives us a more detailed look at his make-up/costume. I'm a big fan of Pitt from Boardwalk Empire, and I can't wait to see what he brings into this movie.

Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, "GHOST IN THE SHELL" follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic's advancements in cyber technology.

Ghost in the Shell hits theaters March 31.
