Edgar Wright is the man behind the Cornetto Trilogy and the live-action adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and his next movie, Baby Driver, has just gotten two new trailers, one official and another international.
The trailers look absolutely insane, and the movie stars Ansel Elgort as getaway driver Baby who works with professional criminals played by Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, Jon Bernthal, and Jon Hamm. There's some great action in the trailer, plus some signature comedy and snappy camerawork that longtime fans of Wright will be familiar with.
The movie also looks to emphasize on music, as Baby is constantly listening to his iPod in order to drown out ringing in his ears received from a childhood accident. It looks like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be having some competition when it comes to best original soundtrack this year.
It's been four years since the release of Wright's last movie, and after the whole controversy with him leaving the Ant-Man project for Marvel, it's just nice to see another one of Wright's movies coming out. I can't wait.
Talented getaway driver Baby (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. After meeting the woman (Lily James) of his dreams, he sees a chance to ditch his criminal lifestyle and make a clean break. Coerced into working for a mob boss (Kevin Spacey), Baby must face the music as a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.
Baby Driver hits theaters Aug. 11, 2017.
