After several months of teasing, we finally have a trailer for the reboot of Stephen King's IT, giving us a whole new Pennywise the Clown and another bunch of kids for him to torment.
Originally a two-part miniseries from 1990, the first movie in the IT reboot will have the kids dealing with Pennywise while they're still young. Should the movie be successful, the second half will have the kids all-grown up and having to deal with Pennywise returning once more.
Stephen King material seems to be getting a whole lot of attention as of late. Other than IT, there will also be an adaptation of King's graphic novel, The Dark Tower starring Idris Elba. Also, Stephen King is considered to be one of the main influences to Netflix's highly successful Stranger Things.
Speaking of Stranger Things, Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike in the show, is also playing one of the kids in the IT reboot. I guess there's just something about him that makes people want to see him being chased by 80s monsters. What fun.
In a small town of Derry, Maine, seven children come face to face with life problems, bullies and a monster that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise.
IT is directed by Andres Muschietti and is set for a release on Sept. 8.
