Though the initial trailer was terribly received, Sonic the Hedgehog managed to make a great rebound with their character redesign and became one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Just in, How it Should Have Ended on Youtube has released their take on How Sonic the Hedgehog should have ended.
Check it out:
While HISHE usually deals with pointing out plotholes in films, they just went all out and had an army of robot Jim Carreys going up against Sonic and the rest of his friends from the video games. While we do get to see Tails by the end of the movie, people are wondering just how many more of the side characters are going to make it into the sequel.
Besides that, the only serious plothole the video points out is Sonic getting tranquilized by Tom. If you follow the story, Sonic basically has the ability to stop time, and it’s kind of weird that Tom was able to get the best of him despite Sonic’s crazy abilities. Then again, it’s a kids’ movie, so we shouldn’t analyze it too hard. Sonic needed to be incapacitated so that he could lose his bag of rings, and that would prompt him on his ‘road trip’ with Tom.
While productions all around are at a halt, you can bet that Sonic is definitely getting a sequel. Personally, I could do without James Marsden’s character, but if they manage to find a way to make the sequel even more engaging than the first one, then I’m onboard.
Sonic the Hedgehog is now available on digital and Blu-Ray/4K UHD.
