Warner Bros. Selects New Head of DC Films

Following Warner Bros. decision to replace Jon Berg and Geoff Johns as the heads of the DC films, the studio has promoted Walter Hamada to oversee the studio's comic book films as the president of the production of DC films, Variety reports.

The shakeup of DC film operations comes to look for better quality control of its big screen titles. Last summer's Wonder Woman captured acclaim and box office success, but films like Justice League and Suicide Squad were savaged by critics.

Hamada, who served as a production executive at New LIne films, helped the studio's division produce horror films like IT and The Conjuring. Of course, Hamada has ties to Conjuring and Aquaman director James Wan, and is credited with helping the filmmaker expand the Conjuring franchise into a successful universe of films like the Annabelle series.

Hamada began his career as an assistant at TriStar and also worked for Columbia Pictures. He will be leaving New Line to work for Warner Bros. and he will also be overseeing the studio's other comic book films outside of the DC franchise.

Hopefully, Hamada's leadership will help the DCEU films become more successful in the near future.
