Warner Bros. Reportedly Disappointed That Ben Affleck Didn’t “Robert Downey Jr.” The DCEU

There might be a lot of love for Ben Affleck's rendition of the Dark Knight in Warner Brother's burgeoning superhero universe, however the DCEU star still remains largely undecided about whether or not he'll stay on as Batman.

Now new reports say that the studio has also expressed disappointment in Affleck's lack of enthusiasm, disappointed that the Gone Girl actor didn't go all out like Marvel's Robert Downey Jr.

According to Revenge of the Fans, sources say that Warner Brothers feels a bit disappointed that their Batman star "didn't RDJ this thing." It seems like the studio had hoped that Affleck would go above and beyond, considering his Batsuit as his second skin. However, Affleck has been largely unsure about his stay in the DCEU.

Warner Brother's new Dark Knight is still on the fence regarding his future in the superhero franchise. The sites sources explain that becoming the DCEU's Dark Knight wasn't "what he (Affleck) thought it would be" and that the actor's upset that the studio reportedly wanted to rush him into production on The Batman, creating problems for Live By Night. Affleck also doesn't seem pleased by the poor reception of the franchise.

According to the report, Affleck doesn't want to leave, but he doesn't want to fully commit to the franchise either. But it's hard to fault him for his indecision, given the way the studio's been handling its various projects.
