Warner Bros. Made Major Changes to the DCEU, Here’s What We Know

While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice had been the box office hit that Warner Bros. expected it to be, the movie's less than favorable reception from some fans and critics have resulted to some major changes in the studio and the DC Extended Universe.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of these changes is the studio placing executive vice president Jon Berg and DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns in charge of DCEU.

Johns is behind the success of DC TV projects in recent years including Arrow and The Flash.

The report claims that Berg is now closely involved with all DC projects in the works. It's worth noting that Berg has had a professional history with Ben Affleck, who has been tasked to executive produce the Justice League films. Berg previously worked with Affleck on Argo and Live By Night.

From the looks of it, Warner Bros. is working towards making the next slate of DC films more solid by fine tuning their focus in other areas, just like Kevin Feige ‘s oversight over Marvel Studios. Even Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld thinks Batman v Superman needed more focus.

While it's certain that Warner Bros. is making major changes behind the scenes, it seems that the studio is still unclear what those changes should be. Fortunately, the studio is working towards improving the DCEU and hopefully, this new direction from the top will work for the better.

We'll likely know how it will turn out once Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5.
