War Machine’s Fate In Captain America: Civil War ‘Looks Bad,’ Says Don Cheadle

Captain America: Civil War will be one of the biggest battles to be featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and at this point, we all know there's bound to be some casualties. Most speculated death is of War Machine/James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) since previous Civil War trailers have shown the character shot down while in the arms of Iron Man.

Cheadle decided to address these rumors in a recent interview with the Daily News while promoting his new movie, MilesAhead.

I'm on Twitter, so I've gotten a few people going, 'Rhodey better not be dead, son. I'm going to be so mad.' Or 'I'm done with this thing if Rhodey's dead.' But that's cool, I like that people get so upset about it. I like that in a Marvel movie people are able to evoke such emotion…It does look bad for Rhodey.

Right now, there's no guarantee that Rhodey will die when Civil War ends, but it seems that Cheadle is having fun with the current rumors about his character's possible death. He could simply be fueling the fire of rumors, but based on the trailers, it wouldn't be surprising if War Machine actually dies in Civil War. However, it would be a challenge for the editors to make his death a surprise.

What his possible death will entail remains to be seen, but more surprises could await fans if Tony Stark decides to do something drastic as retribution.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6.
