Vincent D’Onofrio on the Possibility of Wilson Fisk Joining Spider-Man: Homecoming

Daredevil wouldn't be where it is now without its actors' portrayals of their characters. One of the actors who made a stellar performance depicting his character in the hit Netflix series is Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, also famous in the comics as The Kingpin.

The 56-year-old actor not only gave one of the best performances of a Marvel character on TV, but in the entire Marvel franchise as well.

That said, as well as the fact that The Kingpin is seen in Spider-Man's rogues gallery, it shouldn't come as a surprise that rumors of D'Onofrio joining the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Homecoming began circulating on the internet last week.

Well, the actor is setting these rumors straight in a recent tweet. D'Onofrio stated that he doubts Fisk would appear in the MCU film:

It's worth noting that another rumor has popped up about the film's villains, with Michael Keaton said to play The Vulture, who will receive support from another villain called The Tinkerer. With a big name already slated to play a villain in Homecoming, it seems to make sense that D'Onofrio Wilson Fisk won't be in the movie at all. However, that doesn't mean that the actor isn't open to making things difficult for the web-slinger sometime in the future. He tweeted:

Currently in the Daredevil series, Fisk remains locked up in prison, but already building another empire and plotting his revenge against the men responsible for his prison time, Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson. The Defenders is also set to air prior to Daredevil 3, so it might be sometime before we'll see Fisk antagonizing Peter Parker in a future MCU film.

Directed by Jon Watts, Homecoming stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man/Tony Stark, Tony Revolori as Manuel, and Zendaya as Michelle.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
