Sony has found success with the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and they're going for one more crack at their own Spider-verse with the release of a Venom movie. The film is currently in production, and we may possibly have our first look at Tom Hardy in costume as Eddie Brock.
Check it out:
Looking at the possible soldier's uniform, some could think about Agent Venom from the comics, but the thing is, Agent Venom wasn't Eddie Brock, he was Peter Parker's high school bully Flash Thompson. I can see it being some kind of homage in the movie, but we'll just have to wait and see till we get our first looks.
With the movie set to come out late next year, it's possible we'll get our first trailer for the Venom movie early 2018. We still know very little about the official details of the movie, but we do know that Tom Hardy is the lead, and the villain will possibly be Carnage (played by Rogue One's Riz Ahmed).
It's also been said that the movie will borrow more from the Ultimate origin of the symbiote; instead of coming from outer space, the suit will actually be something bioengineered by Eddie Brock and Peter Parker's parents to fight diseases like Cancer. We don't know how much of that concept will be borrowed, but I am hoping that we get at least a little nod to Spider-Man.
Venom is set to come out Oct. 5, 2018.
