During today's State of the Game blog post, character producer John Goscicki talked about the new and old VALORANT agents. As expected, the next VALORANT agent will be introduced in Patch 3.0, and players can expect future balance updates for Astra, Breach, Skye, and Yoru.

Although Riot hasn't revealed much details about the new VALORANT agent, Goscicki teased that their utility will forces players to "rely on your gunplay."

"This time around we are throwing in some abilities that should feel familiar to folks who've played traditional FPS games their whole lives, but with added elements that will make those recognizable abilities unique within our roster," Goscicki said.

Riot also shared a jumble of letters, where Goscicki claims that his"keyboard just stopped working there." While the characters may look gibberish, it might be a code that the sharpest-minded fans could crack.

As for the upcoming balance changes, Breach and Skye will get more "self-sufficiency," instead of just focusing on letting out three consecutive flashes. Riot is also looking to find ways to make Yoru's abilities more powerful, such as making Fakeout a "more impactful ability". Astra has been a problem to a lot of players who complained that she is "too versatile" with little counterplay, so it's likely that the developers, so the devs will limit specific parts of her ability that are "too oppressive in coordinated play."

These new changes should help make these agents more playable in competitive, so good job, Riot for continually making sure VALORANT is balanced in every way.
