The first trailer for Uncharted is finally here and it's all about awesome action sequences starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. The teaser for the live-action adaptation of the Naughty Dog games also introduces Antonio Banderas' mysterious villain.
The trailer for the Uncharted movie opens with Nathan Drake (Holland) and Chloe Frazer (Sophia Taylor Ali) entering a dark temple. It doesn't take long before Nathan finds a hidden map.
But how did they end up here in the first place? We get to see Nathan working in a bar where Victor "Sully" Sullivan (Wahlberg) tells him he looks young for a bartender. Nathan responds by telling Sully he looks too old to be in a bar.
The conversation clearly leads to a partnership as the two find themselves studying a map together. At this point, it's obvious that they will begin working together on a grand adventure.
Every story has a villain and the main baddie in Uncharted is still a mystery. However, we get to see Banderas' character threatening Nathan, who immediately tells Sully about it.
We also get an awesome glimpse at another possible villain in the trailer. The teaser features You Season 3 star Tati Gabrielle as Braddock. Fans were initially hoping the character would be an ally to Nathan and Sully. However, the Uncharted trailer seems to confirm that she is working for Banderas' character.
We're glad that the trailer for Uncharted has finally been released. It's a welcome treat considering that the movie adaptation has been delayed numerous times in the past. However, it looks like Sony Pictures is determined to keep the new release date. Hopefully, there won't be any further delays in the future but stay tuned for updates on this story.
Uncharted is directed by Ruben Fleischer. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on February 18, 2022.
