Remember how odd it was when Final Fantasy XV had the Assassin's Creed festival event? Players would actually hear Noctis and his friends discuss the video games, with the Prince geeking out over the acclaimed Ubisoft series, seemingly ignoring the fact that his father died and the kingdom he grew up in had been taken over. It looks like it's time for Square Enix to return the favor, as Ubisoft has teased the appearance of Chocobos in Assassin's Creed: Origins.

In the official website of the game, Ubisoft teased a wealth of content coming to the game this month. The game will be getting a new Nightmare difficulty, enemy scaling, horde mode, and so much more. A "surprise quest" was also teased, with a GIF of a Chocobo tail shown.

Not much detail about the Chocobo was shared, though it's easy to assume that the beloved Final Fantasy creature can be used to travel around Egypt. How the game explains their existence should be really fun to see, given how different the lore of Assassin's Creed and Final Fantasy XV are.

Assassin's Creed: Origins is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
