Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have become one of the most divisive installments in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, however, it seems like some fans would still prioritize the film screening above a lot of other engagements – including a party invitation from celebrities like Margo Robbie.
DJ and Uber driver Robert Bregnsdal found himself in a bit of a bind after striking up a conversation with the I, Tonya actress and her husband while driving them off to Miami Beach.
Speaking in an interview with The Sun, Bregnsdal claimed that he and the couple had hit it off so well, the actress ended up inviting him to join the house party that they were heading to in Miami.
"[She said] 'What are you doing now? "Come with us to this house party! They are really nice people i think you'll fit right in.'"
Bregnsdal thought he recognized the Suicide Squad star getting in his car even if she was dressed pretty casually, however, he found it a bit hard to believe that it really was Robbie because she seemed just too nice to be a celebrity.
"When I picked her up I recognized her face straight away. She was wearing a hat so she wasn't as noticeable so I wasn't 100 percent sure at the time it was her...She was so casual and normal, didn't act stuck up or anything and was really chatty. I thought maybe it's not her because she's way too nice to be a big star."
Unfortunately, the Uber driver had to turn Robbie down. He'd already made plans with friends to see The Last Jedi and he didn't want to miss his boys night out to see Lucasfilm's latest installment.
"I don't regret going to watch Star Wars with the lads at all. It was epic."
