Two New Actors Linked to Justice League Movie Suggest Badass Gordon and a Mystery Role

Thanks to the release of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition, some fans have started to shift their sights back to next year's Justice League movie.

And if some new reports are to be believed, then we're bound to find some new faces and a new portrayal of familiar roles. First up is Stella star Julian Lewis Jones, who seems to have been booked for a (currently secret) role in Justice League, Wales Online reported.

Jones has been tight-lipped about his role, so the only thing that fans can take away from his revelation is that the upcoming DC film will be the most expensive to date. The fact that it has already shot in places like U.K. and Iceland may contribute to this.

The next, albeit fiercer face is none other than J.K. Simmons. He's best known as the fast-talking Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films. In Justice League, it seems like he'll be bringing this same brand of toughness to the table. Recently, Simmons recently said that he wants to bring the badass side of Commissioner Gordon in Justice League.

Now if you're still stuck in The Dark Knight trilogy like me, the face of the rather meek but wise Gary Oldman is still the go-to Commissioner template. So this is quite the surprise indeed.

But then again, Ben MacKenzie's fists-first younger Gordon does come to mind, so I guess a tougher, badass brawler Commissioner will be a refreshing take on the character.

Justice League will be released in November 2017.
