It's been a while since the public's heard any news about the Twilight film franchise after Stephenie Meyer's vampire book series of the same name churned out about five films from 2008 to 2012. Though Meyer hasn't been writing any more Twilight books after Midnight Sun was leaked to the public online, the fan base has suddenly fired up interest in making a spin-off for Robert Pattinson's vampire character, Edward Cullen.
Now, in an interview with Yahoo! Movies, Pattinson reveals that he's open to the idea of getting his sparkle back on for a spin-off given that fans are still interested in seeing him as Edward.
"So, I'll get my own spinoff? … I'm always kind of curious. Anything where there's a mass audience — or seemingly an audience for it — I always like the idea of subverting people's expectations. There could be some radical ways of doing it, which could be quite fun. It's always difficult when there's no source material."
If the demand is high enough studios may consider making an Edward Cullen film, after all previous rumors said that Lionsgate was thinking of a reboot of the Twilight franchise. Vampires are still sort of a trend on television, so why not have Edward and Kirstine Stewart's Bella return from the cinematic dead?
