True Blood's Stephen Moyer To Play Lead Role in Upcoming X-Men TV Series

True Blood star Stephen Moyer has been cast to play the lead role in Fox's and Bryan Singer's untitled X-Men TV series, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

Moyer will play Reed, an attorney who struggles to balance his demanding job at the DA's office and family life. In the real world, Moyer is married to his True Blood co-star Anna Paquin, who played Rogue in the X-Men films.

So far, the cast that Moyer is joining includes Blair Redford (Satisfaction, Switched at Birth), who's starring as the mutant Sam, and Jamie Chung (Once Upon A Time, Gotham), who's playing the mutant Blink.

Bryan Singer, who filmed a series of X-Men films for 20th Century Fox, will helm the show's pilot with Burn Notice Matt Nix writing the script and executive-producing alongside him.
