TOHO is ramping up Godzilla Resurgence's July release with new set of Hi-Res images sent exclusively to SciFiJapan -- the #1 source for kaiju fandom news. Toho has shared SFJ with a set of cool images from the upcoming Resurgence (??????, Shin Gojira), as well as some bits of info we've never heard before:
It looks like Toho is bringing a modern take to the 1954 classic. Resurgence will not be a sequel to any previous Godzilla films. Shin-Gojira is going to be the largest Godzilla in record, and as you can see in the photos, he looks more gigantic than previous renditions of the classic monster. Much like the 54' version, Shin-Goijira looks pretty static, but he might just start off that way and start doing more battles on the later sections of the film. You can watch the first trailer here.
Godzilla: Resurgence will be released in Japan on July 29.
