Todd McFarlane Has Finished Writing His Spawn Script; Expect Big Announcement Soon

The 1997 Spawn movie is notoriously known for being terrible, but like every franchise, the property is up for a reboot. Spawn creator Todd McFarlane has just announced that he's finished the script for his new Spawn movie, and he's expecting to make a big announcement this coming San Diego Comic-Con.

Here's the video he posted up:

As of now, McFarlane announced that no studio has picked up the project yet, but he has already been approached by 14 different parties who are interested in making the movie. With the popularity of Spawn in comics alone, Mcfarlane is pretty confident that the project will be up-and-running come SDCC this July.

No big reveals have come out about the script, but we do know that the character Twitch will be playing a substantial role in the story. Hopefully, this time around, people will be more impressed with this Spawn reboot as compared to the '97 movie.

More background on Spawn, it was a comic that came out in 1992 about an ex-military man Al Simmons who worked for the CIA, but was killed by the organization after he questioned the morality of his work. He was sent to Hell for killing innocents, but he made a bargain that would send him back just so he could see his wife one last time. Once resurrected, Simmons' memories were erased, and he had transformed into this demonic creature dubbed Spawn.

As of now, the script has not been picked up by any studio, but hopefully production can kick in to have the Spawn reboot come out next year or 2019.
