It looks like Academy Award-nominee Timothée Chalamet wants to become the DC Extended Universe's new Robin.

Speaking in an interview with Variety, Chalamet opened up about what he thought of Matt Reeve's The Batman movie, admitting that Pattinson would be "awesome" as the DCEU's new Dark Knight. According to the Lady Bird and Call Me By Your Name star, Pattinson would most probably be able to give a "fresh" take on the Caped Crusader.

The actor then went on to explain his childhood obsession with Batman's sidekick, Robin. Apparently, when Chalamet was a child, he would tell people that he was Robin whenever someone would ask him his own name.

"Actually every director steered away from putting Robin (in a movie) – well, actually Zack Snyder had a flashback of Robin, but it was like three seconds and I don't even know if it was Robin by name but they've steered away from it because it's hard to do dramatically or something, and I would not....I'm not averse to those universes," Chalamet said during the interview.

It looks like Chalamet really is into DC, especially Robin. The actor's been keeping tabs on the DC's heroes film appearances the past few years.

Though there have been rumors that Robin may appear in The Batman, we're not quite sure whether those stories might be true. The Batman is going to deal with a number of the Dark Knight's Rogues Gallery villains – the film may not have time for Robin. It could help set up the appearance of Robin a future movie though. Let's wait and see.

The Batman is set to premiere on June 25, 2021.
