‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Will Feature A More ‘Verbal’ Hulk

It looks The Hulk is evolving in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thor: Ragnarok Director Taika Waititi revealed in a recent interview that the big guy will be having a much bigger role in the film.

Waititi sat down with HitFix and explained how he will be handling the unique evolution of the character.

It's interesting, because at the moment, there's a big conversation that's happening about how far to push that. Whether or not The Hulk should be [verbal/conscious]. I think a lot of those conversations have more to do with what's going to come up in future movies. So I think a lot of those decisions are larger group decisions, rather than anything to do with just me or the writer. They have a lot of stuff that they have to consider. But I do think that's the best way to track it. I think we all want that. I think we all want to see that development and the evolution of that character. I also think you can do it in a fun way.

A talking Hulk makes sense and it perfectly coincides with our previous report about Marvel's big plans for The Hulk. If the big green guy were to talk more in Thor: Ragnarok, it would mean the character will just continue to evolve in the MCU.

Meanwhile, some fans have expressed their concern over Waititi bringing humor into the Thor film. During the HitFix interview, Waititi had this response for naysayers:

It's not going to be a crazy comedy, like over the top. But that's definitely my strength and that's what they were looking for when they approached me. So, I think that is the thing I can bring to it to give it a different spin and freshen it up a bit.

He added:

My focus really is making sure that Thor is the best character, though... Yeah, well that is my goal! Because he's got to be. And it should be that way.

It looks like we could see a different, perhaps better, side of The Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok.

Personally, I can't wait to see Waititi create a more comic version of the next Thor movie installment. The franchise hasn't exactly been a fan-favorite standalone series for the MCU. Let's just hope he doesn't focus too much on Hulk. It's a Thor film after all.

Thor: Ragnarok is slated for release on November 3, 2017.
