Thor: Ragnarok Director Says The Movie Was Supposed To Have Another Cosmic Villain

It looks like Thor (Chris Hemsworth) was supposed to fight another villain in Thor: Ragnarok.

Though the Marvel movie is due for release in cinemas stateside later on Friday, Thor: Ragnarok is still making the promotional rounds, and in a new segment with IGN, director Taika Waititi and Marvel stars Tom Hiddleston and Tessa Thompson play a game guessing whether a word given to them is actually a Thor villain or a type of IKEA furniture.

Perrikus eventually came up in the game, and while team Thompson-Hiddleston and team Waititi both guessed that the word was a name for a Thor villain, the Marvel director went on to explain that he knew that Perrikus was a Thor baddie because he had planned to add the villain into Ragnarok.

"Guess I remember Perrikus, he was going to be in our movie," the director said.

For those who aren't that familiar with the Marvel baddie, Perrikus is a villain nicknamed the God of Unlimited Power and Infinite Energy. He's been an enemy of Asgard ever since one of the realm's scouts killed his wife during a fight.

Still, even without Perrikus, Ragnarok seems pretty busy dealing with Hela (Cate Blanchett) and the film's doing really well internationally.

Thor: Ragnarok hits cinemas in the US this Friday, November 3, 2017.
