Thor Ragnarok: Concept Art Shows Bald Thor With Some Cool Gladiator Armor

The God of Thunder went through a drastic makeover in Thor: Ragnarok, and it's no mystery that Marvel Studios had played with several concepts of his gladiator look before settling for the one we got. Concept artist Andy Park shares with us some early artwork for Thor's gladiator armor, and it looks pretty cool.

You'll notice that the armor—in contrast to the final movie look—isn't colorful at all, so it's obvious that this came out in early stages of development. I do like how Thor is more bald in this image as compared to his crew cut in the final film. It makes it feel more like a haircut that was forced on him as compared to something that was "styled".

A lot of people were expecting Justice League to outperform Thor once it came out, but as it stands, Ragnarok is one of the most successful Marvel movies of the year. A lot of praise is going the way of director Taika Waititi, and it's speculated that his work on this movie is what might get him the directing gig for the live-action adaptation of Akira.

Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.

Thor: Ragnarok is nearing the end of its theatrical run, but you can still catch the movie in some theaters.
